The SC Wildcats are proud to announce we have added Wrestling to our offering of sports programs. Registration is now open with early bird registration through the end of September. The season will begin with practices the week of November 10th. Practices will be three days a week with optional tournaments on Sundays. All coaches will be USA Wrestling certified.
Wrestling is an excellent off-season sport for football players. It enhances body control and balance, which are crucial for tackling and blocking. The emphasis on leverage helps athletes understand how to use their weight effectively, regardless of their size. Additionally, the explosive movements in wrestling translate well to the agility and quick bursts of speed needed on the football field. Overall, it’s a fantastic way for athletes to develop strength, stamina, and coordination, making them more versatile and effective players come game time.
